Attending both workshops will qualify a trustee to hold a three-year certificate in the Kansas Library Trustee Certification Program. Second Reaching for Excellence Administrative Training Program, Issues in Library Technology will be held Thursday, October 23 and Friday, October 24, 2008. It will be the first use of the high-definition video-conferencing network, ELMeR (Enhanced Library Meeting Rooms) for librarian training. ELMeR locations will be Northeast Kansas Library System, Salina Public Library and Lane County Library (Dighton.) Read about the presenters and print the registration form. Certification: Kansas Public Library AdministratorsReaching for Excellence: Certification Program for Kansas Public Library Administrators, 2007 (including core competencies for Kansas Public Library Directors, in pdf format.) This program was designed to help Kansas librarians document and market their career development. The program is open to administrative personnel in all Kansas public libraries. Library administrators are certified at one of four levels based on their educational accomplishments. Complete information is available in the program guide. Certification: Kansas Public Library TrusteesReaching for Excellence: Certification Program for Kansas Public Library Trustees, 2007 (including core skills for Kansas Library Trustees, in pdf format): This program is intended to enhance library service for all Kansans through the development of knowledgeable public library trustees. Trustees receive initial certification upon completion of one hour of training in each of 5 core skills designated in the program.
