This bell was purchased from
the C & S Bell Co. by the city
of Norwich in 1912 for use as
a firebell. It was used until it
was replaced by an electric
siren in 1939. This monument
was erected in 1985 by the
Norwich Jaycees in honor of
Norwich's progress in the first
100 years
