Seeking information about family of William Gans, shown in the 1865 census as living in Coffey, Co., at the age of 41. Particularly interested in his son Hiram, age 20. Seeking his mother, and his (full?) sister, Hannah.
It has been some years since I last asked for information on my family living in Coffee County about 1865 or so. My great grandparents were George Edward Webber and Nancy White Webber. They are described as having deceased in LeRoy and Burlington some time after 1865, but after inquiry of the Coffee County archives, NO detail of those events has been found. A son, also named George Edward Webber is listed in those archives as passing at that time. Any information about any of these events will be deeply appreciated. Thank you - Don Webber
Looking for anything on "Francis Marion Ferguson" and "Jessie Levina Hess." Family records have both dying near Aliceville. Marion died around 1925 of burst appendix. He was associated with the Bank in Aliceville. He left Wife Jessie who was rumored to have married a Geisey. She raised a daughter Pearl and died around 1963. Standard avenues have been unsuccessful. We are wondering if family records could be so detailed and so mistaken. Has anyone heard of these people? Thanks. Jan
James Riley was born in Ohio, moved with his mother to Kosciusko County Indiana where he married Sarah Ellen Brady. The removed to Marion County Iowa where they had their children. They removed again to Linn County Kansas between 1869 and 1870. Sarah died sometime in the next ten years and the 1880 census found James with his youngest children in Coffey County Kansas.
