VITAL STATISTICS

The JohnsonCounty Archives retains most Johnson County records, including marriage records. However, they do not have birth or death records. These records were not kept in JohnsonCounty until 1911 and then they came under state jurisdiction. For birth and death certificates,you have to write to the state. Visit the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Office ofVital Statistics at http://www.ink.org/public/kdhe/ovs.html for instructions on ordering a birth or death certificate.
