Looking for my g-grandparents: Jacque and Marguerite (Bosley) RAYMOND. He was a scout at Ft. Leavenworth circa 1870-1890. My mother says that her grandmother Marguerite said that he was killed on the trail by indians. May have been wounded and returned to the Fort and died there or may have been burried somewhere on the prarie. Thanks. /Jim/ (P.S. Leavenworth County, Walter H. PORTER Walter PORTER was born Aug 1884 in Hardin Cty, TN. As an adult he wandered through several states including Kansas. He was last heard of about 1912. Would appreciate any data gathered including possible census items as Kansas census in not readily available for me.

My great-great-grandfather Calvin FIGGINS was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas as a member of the standing army in the years shortly after the Civil War. Apparently, he got into some kind of trouble while stationed there and deserted. Can anyone suggest how I can go about finding information about his disciplinary and desertion records? Thanks.

I'm looking for info on James W(illiam?) SHAW, born 1875 in Ark.
His parents may have been William (born Eng) & Cora. He may have had a sister, Cora. The family was itinerant. They lived with his parents, slept under a wagon, and traveled up and down the western part of Ark (from Siloam Springs, Benton county to Mena, Polk county) and in and out of Indian Territory.
13-DEC-1895: James W(illiam) Shaw of Siloam Springs, Benton County, Arkansas, aged 20, married Margaret Rosella "Ella" THARP, also of Siloam Springs applied for a license to be married. Ella was 15 at the time. Ft#24
15-DEC-1895: They were married by J A Petty, JP and the certificate was filed in Bk D4, page 203 on 17-DEC-1895. Ft#24
The family moved around a lot. James was a traveling salesman.
Divorced by J N Tillman, Benton Co Court 30 Mar 1903 James's last known address was Fort Leavenworth, Leavenworth, KS. He was sentenced to prison for 1 year and 1 day for adultry, starting 12-JUN-1902.
They moved to Stillwell, Indian Territory (now Stillwell, Adair, OK (12-JUN-1902) in July of 1896 and resided there for about 6 month. He abandoned her without cause, she followed him after 2 weeks to Mena Ark.
Jan 1897 moved to Mena, Polk, AR, After about 5 months, May-Jun 1897, he got typhoid and his mother took him back to Stillwell Indian Territory. Margaret Rose Ella followed on a train. He sent her to her mother in Delavan S(Springs) Logan, AR when he ran off with a 1/2 Indian girl named Cora DAVIS into Vinita, Ind Terr (now Vinita, Craig Ok) Ft#91
Indian Territory Northern District, Adultry, Jim Shaw entered his plea of guilty 13-MAY- 1902 U S Penitentiary Court at Viniat 28-FEB-1903 Her address was Box 45 SS, Benton, AR She resident for 1 year in Ar before divorce. Dau was 4 yrs, son was 7 months received maiden name back or self and children Ft#91,
15-DEC-1895 J A Petty JP filed 17-DEc-1895 page 203 book D Ft#24 Divorce Book I- 102 Benton Co Ark. He was a non-resident (in jail) and was appointed a Attny, T Chapman, to represent him. The court, finding Ella's petition to be true, ordered that the bonds of matrimoney be disolved, she was granted an absolute divorce, custody of her minor children, Cora M, now 4, and William M, 7 months, and the restoration of her maiden name, Tharp. Ft#91,
Ft#92 Warning order for him filed 10 JAN 1903 to appear in court he was a non resident. Waring appeared in Siloam Springs Republican 13 Jan 1903, 22 Jan, 29 Jan, 6 Feb, 12 Feb.
Family Tradition says that he died out west somewhere, possibly AZ or OR, in the 1950's. It might have been in a train wreck or crash.
The son, William, after he reached his majority and married, eventually moved to Medford, Jackson, OR.

Person in question: JOHN METLER John died at the National Military Home in Leavenworth on Feb 15, 1927. He was buried in Manhattan KS on Feb 16, 1927. According to Debbie Williams, Program Assistant at the Dept of VA, Leavenworth Natl Cemetery, they do not have additional information. I am seeking any information on JOHN METLER. Additional Information I have is that he was born @1847 in NJ.

I am researching the GARNETT family of Leavenworth. John Boleman GARNETT (originally from Kentucky) married Ida Mae SMITH of Platte City, Missouri, and they settled in Leavenworth. They had 13 or 14 children, 11 of whom lived to adulthood. My grandmother was their youngest child, Nell Fern GARNETT EARGLE,born July 8,1905, d.July 5,1994. Their eldest child was Margaret(Sissy)GARNETT MILLER, born about 1885. Their third daughter was Gladys GARNETT GEIB, born July 18, 1900. All other children were male. I don't have dates. Some names were Henry and Joe. I would appreciate any information on either the SMITH family or GARNETT family. Thank you very much.

probably 1950's. I have much information on Midlred 's
