Looking for information on John ALLEN. He was living in Linwood, Kansas in 1909. From a postcard that I came across, a young lady (his daughter) had written;
Hello Papa, Alice and I have decided not to go to Portland until spring anyway and you can go just the same. Don't feel hard towards us now. I know we won't like out there this winter. Bye Bye, (name unreadable)
Any information on this family is appreciated. Any relatives that recognize this, I have more on the extended family. Please contact me.

I am looking for information on the burial of my Great Grandmother Magaret Tomlinson Francis. She died 22 April 1929. Her husband was Marcellus Francis who is buried in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Would love to know if anyone has a list of gravesites at any other cemeteries in Leavenworth.
Thanks,

Would like to know if there are old newspapers or lists of obituaries from as far back as 1927. My great grandfather died at the Old Soldiers home in Leavenworth on 11/5/1927.
His name was Marcellus Francis. Also his wife was Margaret Tomlinson Francis. She died 4/22/1929.
Any information is welcome or any ideas on how to find out. Need information from obituaries to track other family members and my great grandparents parents.
Thank you,
Helen

Calia WULFEKUHLER, b. 1881 in Wakarusa, Shawnee, KS, is listed in my father's address book as a relative of John Herman Reed b. 1872 in Leavenworth, KS, my grandfather. Calia lists her parents as Mary Jane REED and Peter WELLHOUSE. Because my father was an only child, there is no-one to field questions to. John H. REED'S father was Robert REED married to Kate WINDELER.
Any information on any of these families would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find out what happened to my grandmother's oldest brother. His name was Adam Rynazewski, and he lived in Leavenworth from childhood to at least 1930 (last mention in Leavenworth City Directory). The 1910 census labeled him as deaf/dumb, and I know he lived with his mother until 1930. At that point she lived with a married daughter in St Joseph,Mo, until her death in 1937. Adam was not listed as a surviving child. I do not know if he died between 1930 and 1937, or if his siblings placed him in an institution when his mother could no longer care for him. I would appreciate knowing if there were any such institutions in Leavenworth I could write and inquire about Adam.

My Great Grandmother, Mary Adele Hunner, was born in Leavenworth, KS in March 1883, Father George Hunner born about 1857, Mother Walburga (maiden name unknown)born 1858 were probably from Munich, Germany. George & Walburga both died in Leavenworth, KS in 1943 & 1941. I am trying to find Walburga's maiden name and more info about George's Father. Mary Hunner married Albert W. Giese, Sr. who was also born in Munich area of Germany. Are there any birth, death, or marriage records of this family?
Albert W. Giese, Sr. father was named William Giese & died in Leavenworth, KS on Jul 31, 1941. William's wife was may have been named Adele M. and she died in Leavenworth, KS on May 1, 1911. Are there any records on William & Adele Giese?

Louis Raimette (died in the 1870's) fought in the civil war. Later was at the USA Embassy in Italy as interpurter. These facts I know are true except for the exact year of death
Louis Raimette is my great grandfather. In the 1950's a man from Kansas told my dad that pictures of Louis Raimette were hanging in the Capitol building inscribed below stating that Louis was the first Person from Kansas to obtain the rank of General????? Looking for more facts on this story --would like to know Louis Raimette's rank.
