He married Bessie V. Rose (born 9/13/1884, died 3/1968). I do not know when they got married.
They lived in the Leavenworth area including Lansing and Tonganoxie. Any information would be appreciated.
Richard Cogan is buried in the Leavenworth National Cemetery as a veteran of the Spanish American War.
James married Catherine MORRISON about 1857. Their children were James (b. 1858), John M. (b. 1860), Mary (b. 1862), William A. (b. 1863), Catherine (b. 1865), Margaret C. (b. 1867, married MCNALLY), Ellen P. (b. 1870), Thomas Henry (b. 1872), and Edward C. (b. 1875). The father, James, was a blacksmith.
Ellen HANNON married John O'SHAUGHNESSY in Fairfax, VA in 1855. Their children were Bridget 'Lizzie' (b. 1858), Mary (b. 1860), James J. (b.1863), Katherine T. (b.1866), Ellen M. 'Nellie' (b. 1869), John A. (b.1871), Andrew (?) (b. 1874?), and William B. (b.1876). Most buried at Mt. Calvary.
Any cousins out there?
J.P. Gamble was the wagonmaster at the Federal Penetentiary at Leavenworth. He later owned a hardware store in either Lansing or Leavenworth.
