Obituary with surnames LINAWEAVER, RUSH, WIEHE submitted by Sue Rush 1960-1969. Date of death Monday, December 30, 1963
RANDY DEAN RUSH

A 18 month old boy died today from apparent carbon monoxide asphyxiation. His mother, Mrs. Terry Rush, RR2, was in critical condition this afternoon with carbon monoxide poisoning.
Mr. and Mrs. Rush and their son Randy, were taken to the hospital this morning, Dec. 30, 1963, after they were overcome by gas fumes in their home south and west of the Country Boy Meat Co. on U.S. 73.
A hospital spokesman said this afternoon that the father is in fair condition.
Jerry Linaweaver, a brother of Mrs. Rush, discovered them unconscious in the home. He had been notified by another RR 2 man, Dewey Wiehe, who had planned to take his children to stay at the Rush residence. When Wiehe was unable to rouse the rushes, he notified Linaweaver. The brother told Deputy sheriff Bill Adams that when he reached the house he could hear his sister moaning. He broke a window and entered finding all three unconscious in their beds.
The baby was carried to Linaweaver's home about 100 yards distant. Linaweaver then returned to the Rush home and removed the father. Wiehe helped remove Mrs. Rush
We only had one resuscitator to use on all three, was the comment of one Lansing volunteer fireman on the scene. An ambulance took the three to the hospital.
The family had moved to their new bungalow last Sunday.
The fmaily dog, also overcome by the propane gas fumes, revived when placed outdoors.
Funeral arrangements for the infant are pending. The Sexton Funeral Chapel will be in charge.
