Taken from the Leavenworth Times Jan. 21, 1973 by Sue Rush. Death date Jan. 19, 1973 Rudolph ForgeFuneral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church for Rudolph J. Forge Sr. 73, of RR 4 who died Friday at St. John Hospital after an extended illness.He was born in Leavenworth County and had farmed here all his life. He was the son of Frank and Margaret Alig Forge. Survivors include his widow, Mary Fink Forge, of the home; two sons, Joseph Forge and Robert Forge, both of RR 4, and a daughter, Miss Helen Forge of RR 4, one brother, Lee Forge RR 4, and two grandchildren. Rosaries will be recited at the Sumpter Chapel today at 2:30 p.m. by the Daughters of Isabella, and at 8 p.m. by friends and members of the parish. Friends may call at the Sumpter Funeral Chapel. |

LOHMANFuneral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St Paul Lutheran Church for Mrs. Christine Lohman, 67, of 3921 Valley View Rd., who died Tuesday at St. John Hospital.Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Mrs. Lohman was born March 18, 1905, in rural Leavenworth County, the daughter of Burr and Emma Moser. She was married to Jack W. Lohman on July 30, 1927. Mrs. Lohman taught school in the Leavenworth County and Leavenworth City school systems as well as ten years in St. Paul Lutheran School. She is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Carol R. Wind of Lansing; a son Capt. Jack R. (USA) of Ft. Benning, Ga; four sisters, Buretta Keirns of Bonner Springs; Ann Atchison of Texarkana, Tex.; Ruth Ceis of Aurora, Mo., and Mary Edwards of Lansing, a brother Chris Moser of Amarillo, Tex., and three grandchildren. She was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in the organizations of the church and taught Sunday school many years. Friends may call at the Sexton Funeral Chapel Wednesday. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church. |

from Leavenworth Times FREDERICK BUTZIN Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Sexton Funeral Chapel for FREDERICK W. BUTZIN, 76, who died Tuesday, March 27, 1973, in the Veterans Hospital at Omaha, Neb. He had been in failing health the past six months. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel after noon Thursday. He was born in Leavenworth on Sept. 15, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Butzin. He attended local schools and as a young man learned the cabinet making trade which he followed most of his lifetime. He was married to Imogene Conrad on Dec. 24, 1922 in Leavenworth. They made their home in Garland for many years. She died in 1964 He was a veteran of World war I. Surviving are a son, Frederck W. and three grandsons, Larry, Steve and David all of Omaha, Neb., and a number of nieces and nephews. |

Tina RodenburgWord has been received here of the May 26 death of Mrs. Tina M. Rodenburg in Nampa, Idaho. She was a former Leavenworth resident.Her husband was a Metropolitan Insurance agent here for several years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Alice Wilson of Nampa, Mrs. Alma Lacey of Wamego and Mrs. Betty Blaco of Kansas City, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Claude Stucker of 714 Olive, Mrs. Mattie Gensler of 701 S. 2nd and Mrs. Arthur Hoffman of 1430 Delaware and six grandchildren. |

Millward Saxer (died October 3, 1973) Funeral services for Millward Joseph Saxer, 74, of 1224 Spruce, who died Saturday at his home will be at 10 am Tuesday in the Sexton Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Mr. Saxer, who had been in failing health for several years, was a lifelong resident of Leavenworth and was born here May 25, 1899. He was a son of John and Lula Engel Saxer. He attended the local public schools. He spent most of his life working as an auto mechanic and operated a service station at the 7th and Metropolitan before retiring 15 years ago. He married Matilda Knight at Leavenworth in 1927. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, of the home; an aunt and three cousins. Friends may call at the Sexton Chapel. The casket will be closed. |

Kate Dick (1973, on the same page as Millward Saxer) Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Dick of Meriden were Sunday in the United Methodist Church at Ozawkie. Burial was in the Nortonville Cemetery. Mrs. Dick died Thursday in Jefferson County Memorial Hospital at Winchester, where she was admitted Wednesday. She had been in a Winchester nursing home for three years. She was born July 1, 1905, at Nortonville and spent most of her life in the Ozawkie community before she moved to Meridan. She attended the former Evangelical United Brethren Church, Ozawkie. She was married to Glen Dick in August of 1922. Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Cowley of Amarillo, Tex., and five grandchildren. |

The obituary of Beulah McCaully, as published in the Leavenworth Kansas Times on 28 Oct 1973, follows: "Funeral services for Mrs. Beulah McCaully, 78, of 320 1/2 Delaware, who died Friday night at the St. John Hospital will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Larkin Funeral Home. Mrs. McCaully was born Sept. 27 1895 at St. Joseph, Mo., a daughter of Charles O. and Armintie M. Moberly. She was a Leavenworth resident 65 years and was a member of the Baptist church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. He husband, William T. McCaully died in 1971. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Allen of 778 Miami, Mrs. Elizabeth Sieg of Warsaw, Mo., Mrs. Ruth Chapman of 1806 S. 4th, Mrs. Dorothy L. Arvizn of Centertown, Ky., and Mrs. Georgette Pyles of DeKalb, Mo.; two sons, Charles McCaully of 710 Ottawa and Alonzo R. McCaully of 936 Spruce; a brother, Edgar Moberly of Kansas City, KS.. and a sister, Mrs. Vera Wilk of 1425 Olive. Thirty-three grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild also survive. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the service. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery." |

Forge, 80, of RR 4, who died Tuesday in St. John Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.Mr. Forge, who had been ill the past six years, was born Sept. 12, 1893, and was the son of John and Mary Kelly Forge. He was a farmer and stockman in Leavenworth County all his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. Survivors include five brothers, Thomas of Easton, Henry of RR 4, John and Louis both of the home, and William of RR 4; and several nieces and nephews. The rosary will be recited by friends and members of the parish at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, 518 Shawnee, where friends may call. The family suggests memorial to Immaculata High School. |

Forge Sr., 76, of Leavenworth, who died Saturday at St. John Hospital will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.Mr. Forge was born March 1, 1898, in Leavenworth County to Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Forge. He married Cecilia Schmidt in 1919. He was engaged in farming, retiring in 1965. He was a member of the Salt Creek Valley School Board, Leavenworth County Draft Board and the Rural Water Department Board. Survivors include his widow of the home, two sons, Herman of RR 4 and Eugene of Austin, Tex.; a daughter, sister Helen Forge of Prairie Village; two brothers, Ed of RR 4 and Andrew of 1035 Vilas; four sisters Josephine Duffin of Hutchinson, Marie Bertels of Nortonville, Philomena Bollin of Kansas City, Kan., and Alma McGlinn of 1013 N. 10th; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandsons. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the Belden Sexton Sumpter Funeral Chapel 518 Shawnee. The family suggests memorials to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund or the Cancer Fund. Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. Sunday. |
