Frank Fischer--Died May 6, 1986

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Larkin-Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. Jena Janek, pastor of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Muncie Cemetery.

Mr. Fischer was born April 20, 1905, the son of Herman and Anna Fischer. He farmed in the Pilot Knob area most of his life and later worked for the Burre's Fruit Farm until his retirement in 1971. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a brother, Otto Fischer, Leavenworth; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Bietka Dowell, 86, Kansas City, Kan., died early this morning in Providence-St. Margaret Health Center, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born November 24, 1899 at Leavenworth, the daughter of Vincent and Veronica Zielinski Bietka. She was reared at Leavenworth and attended St. Casimir Church. She also worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
She was marred to Earl Dowell in 1938; he died in 1963. She was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral in Kansas City, Kan.
Mrs. Dowell is survived by two daughters, Earlene Goodack, Kansas City, Kan., and Elizabeth Swanson, Sharon Springs; one son, Ed Sienkowski, Wilminton, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St .Casimir Church; the Rev. Lloyd Wiegele, O. Carm., will officate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. A parish wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Larkin-Brown Funeral Home where friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday.

Anna W. Steed, 81, Easton, died Saturday evening at Cushing Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Starkey, pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mrs. Steed was born Sept. 4,1905 in Leavenworth County, the daughter of Harvey and Wilhemina Wohlford Tuttle. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the former Bethel Church. She was a member of the Lowemont Extension Homemakers Unit.

She was married to Chester A. Steed on Oct. 7, 1925. After farming at Farley, Mo. for 17 years, they settled near Lowemont. He preceded her in death July 19, 1962. She was also preceded in death by a son, Leonard Steed, Nov. 2.

She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Siebenmorgan, Easton; one son, Melvin Steed, Wolcottville, Ind.; one brother, Harry Bente, West Covina, Calif.; one sister Marie Shockley, Hiawatha; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m., Tuesday at the chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association.

STEED

FRED H. BUTZIN, 74, Leavenworth, died Tuesday morning, Dec 15, 1987, at his daughter's home in Leavenworth. He had been in failing health several months.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald E. Todd, pastor officating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Davis Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Butzin was born Dec. 11, 1913, in Leavenworth, a son of Frank W. and Emma Schultz Butzin. He was a carpenter and a building contractor before he retired. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder, trustee and chairman. He was a member of the Carpenter Union No. 499.

He was married to Anna Wilma Jenike on May 28, 1938, in Leavenworth. She preceded him in death Sept 20, 1984.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou and Bela Hamilton, Leavenworth, and Joan and Harry McComas, Shawnee,KS; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Susan Butzin, Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters Helen Rogers, Columbus, Ga. and Elsie Reeves, Louisana; and four grandchildren, Susan McComas, Tempe, Ari., Mike McComas, Shawnee, KS. and Matthew Butzin and Amy Butzin both of Wilmington. He was also preceded in death by a brother.

ADAM SPARKS, January 20, 1987

The funeral was today with burial at the baby mound of Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Adam was born Jan 28, 1985 in St. John Hospital, where he was baptized a Catholic.

Besides his parents of the home, Adam is survived by his grandparents, Lonnie E. Rush, Theresa Rush, and Roy E. and Velma Sparks, all of Leavenworth; and several aunts and uncles.

The family suggests memorial to St. John's pediatrics unit or the Lifeline program.

OTTO C. FISCHER--died March 24, 1988

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Muncie Mausoleum with burial in Mount Muncie Cemetery.

Mr. Fischer was born May 10, 1908, in Leavenworth, the son of Herman and Emile Fritz Fischer. He owned his own farm before retiring.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews and two close friends, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Montgomery, Leavenworth.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Frank Fischer, and two sisters, Martha Fischer and Annie Farquhar.

MARY E. WAGNER, 83, Easton, died Saturday morning, July 9, 1988, at the Jefferson Cunty Memorial Hospital in Winchesterafter an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church in Easton; burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Belden Funeral Chapels where friends may call after 9 a.m.
She was born Jun 21, 1905, in Mt. Pleasant, Kan., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Garke Domann. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the St. Lawrence Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabelle.
She married Peter M. Wagner on July 22, 1926, in Effingham. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18.1980.
Other survivors include six sons, Peter M. Wagner, Sunrise Beach, Mo., Clarence John Wagner, Easton, Robert L. Wagner, Lansing, Walter W. Wagner, Easton, Anthony C. Wagner, Leavenworth and Merlin M. Wagner, Leavenworth; two daughters, Marie Kenny, leavenworth and Clara Goetz, Leavenworth; two sisters, Beatrice Griffin, Overland Park, and Margarite Lindsey, Independence, Mo.; 40 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Leo L. Wagner on March 7, 1964, and Clarita Wagner. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Maxwell was born Aug. 29, 1916, in Yale, Kan., the daughter of Joseph and Rachel Young Studdard. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis de Sales Church.

She married Richard Maxwell on June 8, 1944, at Basehor. He survives at the home.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Studdard, Thomas Studdard, and James Studdard.

The family suggests memorials to the Hear Association or the American Cancer Fund.

YVONNE M.ZULE, 53, McLouth, died Monday, May 22, 1989, at Bethany Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
The Mass of Christian burial is at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic church; burial with be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, both in Easton.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Belden Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 9 p.m.
Mrs. Zule was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Leavenworth County the daughter of Aloysius and Barbara Kremer Capesius. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She worked several years for Hallmark Cards.
She married Leo Zule on Oct. 23, 1954. he survives at the home.
Her other survivors include two sons, Duane Zule and Richard Zule, both of McLouth; and a sister, Dorothy Zule, Easton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

William Forge

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church; burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call today at Belden Funeral Chapel, where the parish rosary will be recited, at 7 p.m.

Mr. Forge was born Jan. 5, 1914, in Leavenworth County, the son of John and Mary Elizabeth Kelly Forge. He retired in 1978 from the Bureau of Prisons. He also worked for the V.A.M.C. and was a farmer.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Joseph Church and the St. Joseph Benevolent Society.

He married Evelyn Babcock in 1942. She survives at the home.

His other survivors include two daughters, Connie Gardner, Kansas City, Mo., and Gayle Yantzi, Gladstone, Mo.; two sons, Robert B. Forge and Timothy J. Forge, both of Leavenworth; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the rectory building fund at St. Joseph Church.
