My Grandfather, Junius Roseberry, married Nida May Minton in La Cygne on
October 2, 1899. My Great granfather, Reese Roseberry, was a Civil War
veteran and was once a Legislator representing Linn County. Reese died
in 1924. I would be most interested if anyone has any
information, or could tell me where I might find information on the
Roseberrys in Linn County.

McGLOTHLIN: Henry H. and Shadrick. Both lived in Linn County between
1885 and 1900. Henry died childless but "Shad" had 4 children
by 2 different wives. By M. PRESTON he had Cora (b 1871) who married 1)
J. H. SMITH and 2) Mr. CALLINS; and Julia (b 1876), who married Mr.
LISTON. By his second wife Gennett N. SPEARS he had Louisa and Henry,
birth dates unknown.
Henry and Shadrick McGLOTHLIN were children of David and Jemima COREL
McGLOTHLIN of Johnson Co., KY. I am looking for descendents of the
McGLOTHLINS to help me fill in my blanks. I have much information on
COREL line and will be glad to exchange. Please e-mail. Thanks.

families in Linn County, KS. My greatgrandfather, Allen Cecil WYCOFF, b.
22 Feb 1858, Marion Co., Iowa, married Mary Susan HARPER on 10 Apr 1879
in Mound City, Linn County. Mary Susan HARPER was born on 10 Jul 1861,
Linn Co., KS. Her parents were Anderson HARPER and Harriet (Elizabeth)
BUNCH.

DUNKEL/SHULTZ--Seeking information on Fredrick Dunkel and wife, M.E.
Lizzie Shultz. They were married in Miami county in 1883. They lived in
LaCygne and burried two childern during that time, Bessie and Lina Ann
1887-1888. The childern were buried in Paola, death records show them
living in Linn County. Fredrick's father was John, brothers were Phillip,
Jacob and Adam. Seeking contact with any descendants.

BEAMAN, Nathan R., son of Laban and Mahala (Stevens) Beaman, born 1854, Owen
County, IN, died 1929, buried Elk Creek Cem. Wife Elizabeth HICKS, born
1857, died 1906, also buried Elk Creek Cem. At least one child, William
Wilbert, born 1883. Nathan was reported to have gone to Linn County by 1887, but is not on t
he 1900 or 1910 Federal census there; he was enumerated in 1920 with his sister, Margaret Cassida.
I would like to know his marriage date to Elizabeth; also, was Corry Eugene Beaman his son? I would
like to hear from anyone doing the Beaman family from Owen County, IN.

CASIDA/CASSIDA, Margaret Ellen (BEAMAN), daughter of Laban and Mahala
(Stevens) Beaman, born 1845, Owen County, IN, died 1920, buried Curry Cem.
Margaret married in Owen County, IN on 26 April 1862 to Russell Clinton
Casida, born 1843, died 1897. Russell and Margaret were reported to be in
Linn County by 1870; did locate them there in 1880 and 1900 Federal census.
Would like to hear from Margaret's descendants.

I am searching for any and all information on my Greatgrandmother. DAY,
Margurite Louise born in 1878 in Linn Co. Kansas. She later in life
lived in Minniapolis, Ks. Ottawa Co. Married BAKER, Perry and had
several children. My Grandfather, her son was Theadore Baker. A dauther
was Golda Baker born in 1917 in Ottawa Co. Ks.. Margurite Days mothers
maiden name was Johnston. I have a birth certificate on Golda Baker.
That is where I got the information that M. Day was born in Linn Co. her
age at the time of Golda Bakers birth was listed at 39 years old.

I am looking for living relation or decendants of Jesse OWENS b.
22/02/1886, and Elmer OWENS b. 30/05/1880, Martha [Mattie]'OWENS' HUSTED
b.17/11/1873 ; Calvin OWENS b.26/04/1875; Sylvia Pearl 'OWENS' CAMERON
b.22/07/1888. All were born in Indiana, moved to Mo around 1900, later
around 1901-2 to Linn County KS. Grandfather Calvin, had a farm there.
The address was RFD 1, Biocourt,KS and they also were around Paola, and
Pleasanton. My grandmother, Anna Rebecca 'PURDY' OWENS b. 22/12/1881,
lived at Trading Post, KS having come from Bates Co. MO. They had 4
sons born in Pleasanton. {In her youth she had the job of sitting out
front facing the rock wall of the Post and shooting any snakes that came
out of the face of the rock wall.} Calvin & Anna Owens sold the farm
the last of 1919, and moved to Washington State , arriving here at the
Methodist Church on the eve of 24th Dec 1919. Jesse Owens and wife
Pearl Shade,and children were already here, but later moved back to KS.
Jesse and Elmer OWENS last known place of residence was KS in 1964,
around or in Linn county, according to Sylvia Pearl 'OWENS' CAMERON's
funeral record,dated 7/7/1964. In 1919 a advertisement was circulated
about a auction for the sale of my grandfathers farm and livestock. It
is said by my great uncle Harry PURDY,still alive,b.25/11/1893, 104
years old next week,[ my grandmothers youngest brother], that people
came from several states away to purchase his livestock,because of the
quality. Along with any relation, I am seeking a copy of that poster
announcing the sale. Thanks in advance for any consideration in this
query.

Does anyone know Ira A. DELLINGER born c1874? He was in Linn Co., Kansas
in 1899 when he gave a deposition for Widow Elmira HINKLE/Mrs. Emanuel.

Emanuel and Elvira (Welch) HINKLE lived in Linn Co. from c1883-1917. They lived in Oakwood but post office address
was Blue Mound. Emanuel was killed 26 September 1898, buried Oakwood Cemetery. I don't know how he died and wonder
if there are obituaries available for that time? Elvira died 18 September 1917. They had three daughters: Jessie M.
born c1870, she married a STEWART; Daisie E. born c1872; and Ethel G. born c1879. I know nothing more about the

LONG - I am looking for descendents of James Madison Long born 4Dec1828 in Washington Co.,IN. a
nd died at the home of his son Walter A. LONG on 15Jul1907 just east of Blue Mound, KS., in Linn Co.
He is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery. He had lived in Linn Co. for the last 12 years of his life.
In addition to son Walter, he had a son Elisha H. Long of
Blue Mound and a daughter Frankie Gibson. His wife Lucia Jane Deherrin
Collins Cable was still living when he died. I would like to correspond
with anyone working on or related to this line of LONGs.
