I am looking for information on William Henry (Henry) and Frances Arnold (Hill)
BARNARD. They lived in Linn County after 1860's. William Henry died 19 April,
1888 and buried in Linn County, Elm Grove Cem. Cadmus. Frances died 4 Jun 1848
and buried same as above. Please confirm the above and any information on
BARNARDS in Linn County.

HUSTED - Looking for descendants of Benjamin D. HUSTED, born 6 March 1826 in
Ohio, died 29 October 1898, Linn Co., Kansas; married 2nd on 16 March
1868 in Linn Co., to Melissa Jane (_____) WILLIAMS, who was born about
1840 in Illinois or Wisconsin. Both are buried in the Old Sugar Creek
Cemetery (now Goodrich) in Liberty Township, Linn Co. Melissa's stone is
broken off and no other information than her name remains. She is not
mentioned in Benjamin's probate, so probably died prior to 1898.
Benjamin and Melissa had the following known children 1) Charles F.
HUSTED, b. 1869; 2) Truman G. HUSTED, b. 16 July 1872, d. 29 October
1905; and 3) James R. HUSTED, b. 5 July 1874, d. 20 October 1927; and a
grandchild, Roy B. HUSTED, b. 8 July 1910, d. September 1980, a resident
of Iola, Allen Co., Kansas. Benjamin had at least one child by a
previous marriage, namely, Joseph HUSTED, b. 1852, in Ohio.

WILLIAMS - Need to verify birthplace and parents of Anna Elizabeth WILLIAMS, born
17 March 1860 "in Kansas", daughter of an Irishman named "Williams" and
his wife Melissa Jane. Anna was married in Linn Co., Kansas, on 11 July
1877, to James Benjamin PAUL. Who was her father, what happened to him.
What was her mother's maiden name? Any information would be appreciated.

ELLIS - I am looking for my gr-gr-grandfather Thomas' father, William Ellis. I found
Thomas' family in the 1860 census in the Town of Paris, Linn County, Kansas.
I believe he was a carpenter. They had family in Peru, Indiana. They seemed
to have gone back and forth quite a bit according to where each child was
born. They all got married in Peru, Indiana.

Linn County - Looking for Charles W. HENDERSON (1873 to 1963) was the son of Robert L. HENDERSON &Ruhamah (?maiden)... He married Alpha BAILEY and they had a daughter named Ethel Marie HENDERSON in 1915. She was born in Dorrance, Russell Co., Ks. Ethel was raised by Robert &Ruhamah HENDERSON. I have found Charles HENDERSON obit and it states nothing about his daughter surviving him or
the wife (or ex wife?) Alpha. What gives?

My great great grandpa Samuel CRAWSHAW (wife - Betty) settled in or near
Trading Post in Linn County in 1855. He served in the Civil War. He
later moved to Wilson County Kansas in 1870.
There also was a William CRAWSHAW living in Linn County but I don't know
the relationship to Samuel. William &his wife died in a praire fire.

was Mary HATFIELD and her father was John DAY. She had sisters

OWENS, Settled in Linn county around Pleasanton, and Biocourt,. Am
seeking to locate relatives still living in this area. I have old
Photos and tintypes to share, some to identify.
My grandfather was CALVIN (CAL) OWENS, Married to ANNA REBECCA PURDY.
They had 4 sons, JAMES OWENS, WILLIAM (WALT) WALTER OWENS, CHARLEY OWENS,
JOSEPH (JOE) OWEN. Cals brothers were ELMER OWENS, JOHN (JESSE) OWENS,
His sisters were MARTHA (MATTIE) OWENS HUSTED, SYLVIA PEARL OWENS CAMERON.
The Cal Owens family (Camerons' moved earlier) moved to Washington
1919, arrived Dec 24 pm 1919. Jesse Owens and family lived in WA for a
time 1919-1920+ however, moved back to KS.
I am looking for their descendants. Elmer and Jessie were both still
alive on July 1964, when their sister Sylvia died here in Washington.
If you are familiar with these Owens, or related to them I would
appreciate hearing from you.

I am looking for information on Thomas Jacob SHUMAKER and his brother,
Samuel Smith Shumaker. I believe they moved from Knox County, IL in the late 1800's.
I am not sure if Thomas stayed, but I believe that Samuel farmed near Blue Mound in
Linn County and raised a family. I believe that some of his family later moved to
Montana. Any information would be helpful.
