ELDRIDGE family - David P. Eldridge served as captain in the 7th Kansas
Volunteer Cavalry. When his wife, Alvira, died sometime during the Civil
War, he took his son, David P. Eldridge Jr., into the army with him to
serve as a bugler in Company G of the 7th Kansas Volunteer Cavalry. They
also had 3 daughters --Susan, Sarah, and Lydia. In the 1860 census, David
Jr. was reported to be 10 years old and his 3 sisters were reported to be
7,4,3. David Sr. and Alvira are thought to be buried in Pleasanton. Any
information about David Sr., Alvira or any of their daughters will be
appreciated.
I am the great granddaughter of David Eldridge Jr. and have information
about him after he was mustered out of the army at Fort Leavenworth and
eventually migrated to Montana & Idaho. I am very interested in
information about his and his father's service in the army during the
Civil War.
