Obituary of GEORGE RON McCLARY
Services for George Ron McClary, 64, Wichita, who died March 31, 2000, at Wichita, were held Monday at Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort, with the Rev. Bill Bruning officiating. Burial was at St. Wenceslaus, south of Blue Rapids.

He was born Oct. 3, 1935, at Blue Rapids, the son of George J. and Edna Vail McClary.

He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Burnside Country School, and Frankfort High School.

He married Mary Mozelle Lovell on Dec. 3, 1955. She died in 1980. The couple had three children, George R. McClary, Jr., Ronda, and an infant son who was stillborn. He then married Marcella Malissa Miller on July 13, 1963. They had two children, Sonja and Monica.

He worked in construction, at Boeing, operated heavy equipment for Sumner County for 13 years, Oklahoma Tank Lines, and A-Plus Trucking. He retired in October 1998.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, his pet rooster "Charlie," and numerous other pets.

He lived in Belle Plaine for 24 years. In December of 1998, he moved to a farm near Hillsboro to be near his sister Billie and her husband Arlo Goossen, so he could help them on the farm. In December of 1999, he had recurring attacks of pneumonia which was later diagnosed as cancer.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, and by his father.

Survivors include his mother of Frankfort; son George of Wichita; daughters, Ronda McClary of Grantville, Sonja Brown of Derby, and Monica McClary of Lawrence; brother Henry McClary of Quilcone, Wash.; sisters, Kathryn Fox of Frankfort, Beverly Kennedy of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jo Ann Murk of Topeka, Dorothy Raub of Dodge City, and Billie Goossen of Hillsboro; and eight grandchildren.

Organist was Lavonne Farrell.
Pallbearers were Richard Wege, Arlo Goossen, Tim Goosen, Stanley Murk, David Raub, and Leon Fox. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Fox, Lawrence Murk, Allen Raub, and Don Raub.

A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
