Blake will present “Veteran Memorials in the City”. Philip is widely known for his involvement with veterans from many wars. He is the Program Manager of Operation Ensign and the author of "They Paid the Price; A Guide To Veterans Monuments In Wichita, Kansas". Director of the Old Mill Museum, will make a presentation tentatively named
“Swedish Records. The McPherson County Old Mill Museum preserves the early
heritage of McPherson County. The museum collects, preserves, researches,
exhibits and interprets materials related to this heritage with special emphasis
on the period from 1870 to 1910.

February 23, 2008 - Computer Support Group, 1:00 p.m. Let's talk about Blogs and Storing Research Notes on Your Computer.

March 8, 2008 - All day Seminar with Kathy Rippel providing four
presentations. This Seminar is combined with the MHGS annual members meeting. It
will be held at the WSU Conference Center. LIBRARY

Cemeteries Galore: Continuity & Change in Kansas Graveyards; Do, Make Do, or Do Without: Daily Life in Kansas 1861-1961May 10, 2008 -Speaker and "BYOS" (Bring Your Own Sack Lunch) from 10:30 to 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 330 North Broadway. Linda Hass Davenport will make two presentations. The first one will be, "Having Fun with Old Newspapers", from 10:30 a.m. – Noon. And the second one, "Taking the Mystery Out of Land Records", from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 pm. Our sack lunches may be eaten in the Church’s meeting room. A fee of $5.00 for each presentation ($10 for both) will be collected at the door. You may attend either or both presentations. Don’t forget your sack lunch. The public is welcome.
July 12, 2008- Suzanne Trotter will make a presentation on German genealogical research. She resides in Provo, Utah and is a certified genealogist specializing in German and other European countries genealogical research. This meeting will be 1:00 pm at the Evergreen Branch Library, 2601 N. Arkansas, Wichita.
