Jack L. Bennett, 75, Stockton, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Hays Medical
Center. He was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Cedar to Cecil and Goldie (Hawley) Bennett. He
graduated from Gaylord High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean
War. He married Ivalee Gray on Dec. 31, 1954, in Kensington. He worked for the
Rooks County Highway Department, retiring in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Scott Bennett, Stockton;
three daughters, Denise McNulty, Stockton, Deena Lamp, Phillipsburg, and Darcy
Wilson, Surrey, British Columbia; a sister, Shirley Lee, Modesto, Calif.; seven
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral
Home, Stockton; burial in the Stockton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8
p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral
Home, Stockton.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or to

Robert Kerell Hunter, 71, Plainville, former Hill City resident, died
Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, in Lansing. He was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Hill City to Robert and Minnie (Sanders)
Hunter. He was a lumberyard employee and laborer.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Reeves Hunter, Plainville; a stepson,
Gerald Reeves, Plainville; two daughters, Ronda Beacon, Hoxie, and Tonia Warner,
Plainville; a brother Byron Hunter, Ness City; four sisters, Roberta Hendrick,
Connersville, Ind., Rowena Carpenter, Selden, Irene Berry, Hill City, and
Kaylene Zahn, Hutchinson; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Spencer-Stinemetz Funeral Chapel,
Hill City; burial in the Hill City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church.

Lorene Adele McClellan Hayworth Reed, 82, Plainville, died Thursday, Jan. 27,
2005, at Haysville Health Center. She was born Aug. 27, 1922, near Plainville to Dugald and Nellie (Woods)
Carmichael. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1940. She married Wayne McClellan on Jan. 24, 1942. He preceded her in death. She
married Berton Hayworth; they later divorced, and she then married Alfred Reed,
who preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Gary McClellan, Wichita; a daughter, Linda Sears,
Garland, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Eugene McClellan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Plainville United Methodic
Church. Arrangements are being made by the Cochran Mortuary, Wichita.

STOCKTON — Leon W. Hamilton, 92, Stockton, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005. Mr. Hamilton was born Nov. 15, 1912, in Leroy. He was the owner of Rooks
County Record.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal, in 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Leon of Stockton, C.W. II of Levant and
Barry of Olathe; two daughters, Judy Helm of Goodland and Jyl Unrein of Chanute;
nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two
stepgreat-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Stockton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to House Calls of HMC Home Health
and Hospice, in care of Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. First,
Stockton.
There will be no visitation.

Anna Gilson, 93, Wichita, former Plainville resident, died Monday, Jan. 17,
2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis, Wichita. She was born Feb. 25, 1911, on a farm north of Zurich to James and Emma
Novotny. She married Clarence Gilson on July 27, 1937, in Colby. They were owners of
Gilson's Drug Store, Gilson's Sporting Goods and Ann's Gift Shop. She moved to
Wichita from Plainville in 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Ann Fechner, Junction City, and
Rita K. Young, Wichita; a brother, Raymond Mech, Salina; three grandchildren;
and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church,
Plainville; burial in the Plainville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday
and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville, and
from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Leta Bouchey, 82, Stockton, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at her home. She was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Rooks County to Joe and Emma (Miller) Veverka.
She graduated from Stockton High School. She married G. Russell Bouchey on June 22, 1944, in Lawton, Okla. He died
Aug. 3, 1986. She was the Stockton city clerk from 1953 to her retirement in
1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Haines, Stockton; her sister, LaDonna
Schneider, Stockton; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church,
Stockton; burial in the Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton, and from 9 to

Elverta Dick, 98, Lawrence, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Brandon Woods
Retirement Community, Lawrence. She was born Oct. 26, 1906, in Potter to C.K. and Lilly (Davis) Hawley. She
attended McPherson College and Emporia State Teachers College. She married Paul R. Dick on Aug. 21, 1929; he died in March 1997. She was a
retired school teacher, teaching music in school districts in western Kansas.
Survivors include a son, James P. Dick, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Paula
M. Parker, Olathe; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence;
graveside services at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Plainville Cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the service. Moore-Overlease Funeral
Home, Plainville, is in charge of local arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Lowman United Methodist Church, Topeka, or Baker

Velda Lucille Morin, 90, Plainville, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at the
Rooks County Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Natoma to George T. and Anna (Webb) Smith. She married Thyril McClay on Sept. 28, 1929. He died Aug. 30, 1964. She
married Alvin L. Morin Feb. 5, 1966, in Plainville. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Max McClay, Springfield,
Mo.; two daughters, Nanette Morel, Plainville, and Maurine Francke, Flint,
Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Naomi Hartnett.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Plainville; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plainville.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and
from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville. A Ladies
Guild rosary will be at 3 p.m. Sunday with a parish vigil at 7 p.m. at the
funeral chapel.

Jack Duane Baxter, 78, Stockton, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at the Rooks County Health Center, Plainville.
He was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Speed to Calvin Edwin “Edd” and Fern Nettie (Gartrell) Baxter.He married Ileta McCune on Oct. 7, 1945, in Phillipsburg. He worked for Lane Wells & Schult Mobile Home Factory.
Survivors include his wife, Phillipsburg three sons, Larry Baxter, Onaga, Garry Baxter, Cedar, and Baxter, Smith Center a daughter, Karol Rice, Honolulu, Hawaii nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Main Street Christian Church, Stockton burial in the Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

8 Jan 2005 Concordia Blade-Empire Sister Dismas Cartwright
Sister Dismas Cartwright, 75, died Jan. 6, 2005, at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia.
She was born Sept. 22, 1929, in Gladstone, Mich., to Merrick and Catherine Abba Cartwright, and baptized Florene Dolores She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, on June 4, 1949. On March 19, 1950, she received the habit of the Sisters of St. Joseph and was given the name Sister Dismas She pronounced first vows on March 19, 1951, and final vows on March 19, 1954.
Sister Dismas received her BA in psychology from Marymount College, Salina, and she taught in schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph in Seguin, Herndon, St. Peter, Schoenchen, Plainville, Gorham, Damar and Aurora, Kan. In 1973, she semi-retired to St. Mary’s Convent in Grand Island, Neb., where she did visitation and care of the elderly and homebound. Because of health problems, in 2001, she retired to the Motherhouse in Concordia.
Sister Dismas was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings. She is survived by her twin brother, Lawrence, in Herndon, Fla., and three sisters, Betty Cartwright Melinda of Arlington Heights, Ill., Cecilia Cartwright Minor and Beverly Cartwright Santeler, both of Harvard, Ill.
A Bible Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 9, in the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel with Sister Jackie Kircher as the eulogist. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel with the Rev. Curtis VanDel, SJ presiding. Burial will be in the Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery.
Chaput-Buoy Mortuary, 325 W. 6th St., Concordia, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Joseph Health Care/Retirement Fund or the Apostolic Works of the Sisters, P.O. Box 279, Concordia, KS 66901.

Anna Jo Hill, 94, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center, Minneapolis.
She was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Burrton to Ernest Archie and Emily Ann (Stone) Durflinger. She attended Emporia State University and taught in country schools for several years. She married Kenneth S. Hill on Aug. 3, 1930, in Hutchinson. He died in 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Bird, Stockton, and Connie Kriss, Colorado Springs, Colo. eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Following graveside private family services at Burrton Cemetery memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Burrton.
Memorials are suggested to the Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center or the Ottowa County Hospice in care of Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.

She was born April 7, 1922, in Olpe to Emanuel and Anna (Burnheide) Klumpe She attended St. Joseph Catholic School, graduating in 1940. She married Ralphael Alphonse Comeau on Oct. 14, 1942, in Loraine, Ohio. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish, Plainville, a charter member of the daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Olives Circle No. 873, Sacred Heart Ladies Guild and the Plainville Rural Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include five sons, Ronald R. Comeau, Aurora, Ontario, Perry J. Comeau and wife Cynthia, Oelwein, Iowa, Roger L. Comeau and wife Plainville, David L. Comeau Denver, Charles G. Comeau and wife Shirley, Plainville and a daughter, Catherine A. He was born Nov. 13, 1972, in Plainville to Terry and Olive Rush. He married Darla McFadden on April 22, 2000, in Hays. He was most recently a stocker at Wal-Mart in McPherson.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Matthew Rush, Hays three daughters, Christina Rush, Hays, and Alexis Rush and Olivia Rush, Marion two brothers, Christopher Rush, Kansas City, Kan., and Terry Powers, Savannah, Ga. a sister, Rush, Overland Park and grandparents, Leslie and Elizabeth Rush WaKeeney, and Olive Griffith, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, and a second service will be at noon Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, WaKeeney burial in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today with the family present to greet friends at the funeral home in Marion and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church in WaKeeney.

Edward “Ed” Yoxall 79, Concordia, died Dec. 21, 2004, at Salina Regional Health Center.
He was born June 26, 1925, at Hays to Everett and Ollie Ellen Wasson Yoxall. He attended and graduated from schools in Woodston, Kan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Elaine Ives Dec. 28, 1946, in Phillipsburg, Kan. He was the owner and operator of the Edward Yoxall Life & Health Insurance Sales Co. until he retired in 1990. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Concordia, Kan., a member of VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76 in Concordia.
Survivors include his wife, Yoxall of Concordia two sons, Yoxall of Concordia and Dennis Yoxall and wife of Canyon County, Calif. two brothers, Joe Yoxall and wife Marvel of Phillipsburg and Donald Yoxall and wife of Glendale, Ariz. one sister, Marjorie Conn of Stockton five grandchildren, Nicole Green and husband Michael of Derby, Kristin Yoxall and Leslie Yoxall, both of Wichita, Rachelle Yoxall and Chris Ngo of Hays and Nick Yoxall of Concordia four great-grandchildren, Jessica Paul and Jordon Paul both of Wichita, Ashton Ngo of Hays and Allie Green of Derby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 30, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia with the Rev. Russell J. Gotschall officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
Friends may sign the register book from 8 a.m-5 p.m., Tuesday, and Wednesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 West 6th Street, Concordia, KS 66901. The body was cremated.

Edna Barbara Harrison, Great Bend, Kansas, passed away December 29, 2004. Born on February 17, 1917, in rural Rooks County, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Anna (Baxa) Howat. She married Richard Harrison by Probate Judge in Stockton, Kansas. (Later they were married in the Catholic Church). She graduated from Codell High School, taught country schools for two years. She attended Fort Hays State University majoring in child psychology. Pledged Phi Kappa Sigma. She played, coached and refereed volleyball and was a calisthenics instructor. She worked at Coleman Defense Plant in Wichita, then enlisted in World War II, on January 29, 1943, as a WAAC and took basic training in Des Moines, Iowa. She was assigned to Regular Army, 3rd Air Force, Tampa, Florida as an Air Traffic Controller. She was a flag bearer for the WAC Company and numerous Battalion parades. She was discharged November 23, 1945. She returned to Plainville, Kansas, where she owned and operated a drive-in eating establishment. and Richard lived on the family farm with three children until the death of her husband on April 23, 1996. She moved to Great Bend, Kansas, in 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Harrison, Las Cruces, N.M., Greg Harrison, Overland Park, and Brian Harrison, Great Bend a sister, Blanche Girvan, Plainville seven grandchildren, Justin Harrison, Harrison, Riley, Anna Harrison, Abby Harrison, Harrison and Hunter Harrison and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Riley.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, and a twin brother, Edgar Howat.
Visitation will be today, Dec. 30, 2004, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend.
Vigil services will be today, Dec. 30, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Moore-Overlease Chapel, Plainville.

Julia 0. Westhusin 86, Plainville, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the Rooks County Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Rooks County to and Elizabeth (Aulbach) Westhusin. She graduated from Plainville High School and the Marymount College nursing program in Salina. She worked for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in Torrance, Calif., from World War II until her retirement 40 years later. She was a Plainville resident since 1991.
Survivors include a brother, Westhusin Plainville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville burial in the church cemetery.
A ladies guild rosary will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m. Friends can sign the register book from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

Vance Leroy Arrington, 87, Hays, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at the Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell. He was born March 21, 1917, in Stockton to Alpha and Florence (Waters) Arrington. He attended schools in Rooks County. He was a retired contractor and the minister of the Hays Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include his wife, (Lindeman) Arrington, of the home two sons, Arrington Bella Vista, Ark., and Robert Arrington, Hays five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Hays Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.

Robert A. Ballard, 83, Stockton, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the Solomon Valley Manor. He was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Rooks County, to Roy A. and Laura (Selbe) Ballard. He attended Woodston High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He married Patricia Hale on Feb. 24, 1946, in Woodston. He farmed, was with the crop & livestock reporting service, and cut and trimmed trees, all in the Stockton area.
Survivors include his wife, of the home a son, Robert Ballard, Concordia two daughters, Pamela Heller, Phillipsburg, and Rebecca Staley, Beloit six grandchildren 2 step grandchildren five great-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Main Street Christian Church, Stockton burial in the Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Lydia L. McMullen, 89, Plainville, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Rooks County Health Center, Plainville. She was born June 27, 1915, in Ellis to Jacob and Anna (Schumacher) Lang. She graduated from Ellis High School.
She married James E. McMullen on June 22, 1948, in Ellis. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1979. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, David McMullen, Courtland six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bacil Butler, 92, Stockton, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born in Lebanon, Mo., to Harvey and Harriet “Hattie” (Huff) Butler. He was a farmer and worked for the Green Thumb Program in Glen Elder and in Oregon.
He married Esther Proeger on Jan. 12, 1933. She died April 20, 1979. He married Lucinda Hammond on Aug. 5, 1980, in Georgetown, Colo.
Survivors include his wife, of the home a son, Richard Butler, Golden Valley, Ariz. two stepsons, Raymond “Clint” Vrollier and G. Vrollier, both of Ulysses a daughter, Verna Van Donge, Liberal a stepdaughter, Anna Marie Wredrich, Gold Hill, Ore. a brother, Riggle Butler, Beloit six grandchildren three step grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Kingdom Hall in Phillipsburg burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Woodston.
No visitation is planned.

Rhonda K. Kollman, 51, Jetmore, formerly of Stockton, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Hodgeman County Health Center.
She was born Aug. 1, 1953, in Stockton to Karl A. and Quetona M. (Bird) Williams.
She graduated from Stockton High School and attended Colby Community College.
She married Gary Kollman on Jan. 4, 1972, at Larned. He died May 24, 1997. She had worked for Solomon Valley Manor, Stockton, prior to moving to Jetmore.
Survivors include two sons, Kollman, Dallas, and Andrew Kollman, Hays her mother, Stockton and three brothers, Williams and Robert Williams, both of Stockton, and Richard Williams, Salina.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Survey Cemetery, south of Woodston.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.

He was born Jan. 4, 1946, in Hays, to Thomas J. and Josephine (Kaba) Westhusin. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a graduate of the University of New Haven.
He married Linda Gates on Oct. 8, 1994, at Groton. He worked for the Electric Boat Corp.
Survivors include his wife, of the home a son, Thomas R. Westhusin, Hillsborough, N. J. a stepson, G. Merrill, Thornton, Colo. a daughter, Laura I. Westhusin, Blue Springs, Mo. two brothers, Westhusin Moreno Valley, Calif., and Westhusin Plainville two sisters, Margaret Newton, Leesburg, Texas, and Harris, Minneapolis a granddaughter and two step-grandsons.
Services in Groton were Tuesday. Additional services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She married Hyacinth Roth on May 23, 1929, in Hays. He died Oct. 21, 1983. They lived in California, and she returned to Hays in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
Survivors include a son, Marc Roth, Oak Hill, Va. a brother, Levi Bedard, Hays and two grandchildren, Michael Roth, Redondo Beach, Calif., and Anne Garceau, Portland.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roth.

Survivors include two sons, Saunders, Stockton and Michael Saunders, Centennial, Colo. two brothers Bates, Bella Vista, Ark., and Max Bates, Cheyenne one sister Lucy Bischoff, Carlsbad, N.M. seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Cleora Pulice and brother Jackie Bates.

His companion, Amber Dimitt was also fatally injured in the same automobile accident.

He married Emma Young on August 11, 1945, in Muskogee, Okla. She died Dec. 8, 2003. He was former vice president of the Luray State Bank and a partner in the O'Leary and Novotny Insurance Agency.
Survivors include a daughter, J. Novotny, Luray a sister, Ingebritson, Hays and three grandchildren.

Neola M. Breckenridge, 72, Stockton, Ks., died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at Hays Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Salina to Lewis and Erna (Grasch) Griffin. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1950.
She married Eugene Breckenridge on Aug. 13, 1950, near Natoma. She was a homemaker and worked for the Stockton Public Library for 40 years, retiring as head librarian in 2003.
Survivors include her husband, of the home a son, Michael Breckenridge, Hays two daughters, Ericka Werling, Solomon, and Susan Lanphear, Bakersfield, Calif. seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Plainville burial in Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton, and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Stockton Public Library or the church in care of the funeral home.

Candace M. Dryden, 84, Stockton, KS, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Solomon Valley Manor.
She was born July 20, 1920, in Rooks County, KS, to Roy and Laura (Selbe) Ballard. She graduated from Woodston High School and from nursing school in Concordia.
She married David Keith Dryden on April 21, 1946, in Stockton. She was a nurse at Hadley Medical Center in Hays and later at Solomon Valley Manor, Stockton.
Survivors include two sons, Dryden, Stockton, and Blaine Dryden Hays two daughters, Elizabeth Eaton, Homer Glen, Ill., and Charlotte Dillingham, Holcomb a brother, Robert Ballard, Stockton 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
