Welcome to Brown County, Kansas

The Brown County Genealogical Society is pleased to present this web site in an effort to assist Brown County researchers in quest of their ancestors. The objectives of this group are to promote an interest in the hobby of genealogy research, to locate, preserve and index public and private genealogical records and make such records available to the public, to publish genealogical and historical information in a regular bi-monthly newsletter and other publications and to assist and support any library or museum containing genealogical material which is open to the public. 

Current officers of the Brown County Genealogical Society are: President - Alvin Elliott; Vice President - Ray Thieme; Secretary - Greg Newlin; Treasurer - Gail Coker-Carr; and News Letter Editor - Marietta Holden; Librarian/Researcher - Lyle Hinz.
