Prize Structure and Reading Goals

Read to me Program, Ages 1-4- Family member or caregiver will read a minimum of 25 books to a nonreader child.

Preschoolers, non-readers- Goal is 25 books

1st grade- Goal is 20 books read themselves or with help

2nd grade- Goal is 20 books in the easy or easy readers category

3rd grade- Goal is 15 books in ER to JF-I

4th grade- Goal is 10 books, 60 page minimum each
    -Added incentive, Each 4th grader who meets the goal gets the opportunity to win a portable CD player. The students may earn additional opportunities for
     each 2 books read over the goal.

5th grade- Goal is 5 books from JF or YF shelves
    -Added incentive, There will be opportunities to win a Teen Vogue Book Bag based on the same criteria as 4th grade incentive.

Prizes for all who complete their reading goals:
-Personal pan pizza coupon
-Choose a book to be placed in the library in honor of the student that completed his/her goal
-Completion certificate
-Choice of prize from the grab bag
