Gone are the days when libraries seemed to value books more than people. Today your library is a "one stop shopping" place for information and enjoyment. Here are some of the services you will find at your library today:
- The Internet - You can access the World Wide Web at no charge, which is a great way to become familiar with the internet before deciding on the equipment you may want to buy for your home or business. The library's web searching tools include Yahoo, First Search, Blue Skyways (from the Kansas State Library) and OCLC (Online Computer Library Center; a national shared cataloging data service).
- Talking Books - These are materials and equipment for patrons who are unable to use conventional print.
- Large Print Books
- Magnification TV - This equipment magnifies just about anything in print and displays the image, magnified, on a TV, for patrons with low vision.
- Copy Machine
- Micro-Film readers and printers.
- IGI Micro-Fiche - International Genealogical Index.
- Tours - are provided to groups on request.
- Meeting Room - The lovely, well-equipped meeting room is available at no charge for use by non-profit groups. Internet connection is available.
- Paperback Exchange - Bring one, take one paperback exchange is available on the honor system.
- Videos - Knowledge comes to life with our collection of videos and on politics, the arts, science, history, classical literature, how-to, health, medical, nature, community development, travel, religion, hobbies, and sports.
- DVD's
- Projector Equipment - can be checked out overnight.
- Branches and Twigs - Monthly meetings for those tracing family history.
- K.A.R.E.
What is K.A.R.E.?
K.A.R.E. stands for: Kingman Area Resource Education: A Free University For Kingman. Through K.A.R.E. programs, sponsored by the library, patrons enjoy spring and fall sessions such as book discussions, instructing Young People's Drawing classes, Intro to the Internet, Quilling, Vegetarian Cooking, Lawn Care, and Genealogy for Beginners.K.A.R.E. also provides speakers and scholars from the Kansas Humanities Council and local speakers on education programs. For many years K.A.R.E. has provided the Wichita Children's Theatre programs to all elementary school children in Kingman County.
Know of someone who is unable to read? One in seven adults are illiterate! K.A.R.E. and the Kingman Carnegie Library co-sponsor a literacy program. We have 15 tutors dedicated to the 3 C's - Committed, Caring, Confidential. The library has books and CDs to help adult learners become readers.

- 264 rolls of microfilmed newspapers from Kingman County and Kingman City, dated 1884-1996, and Kansas Census to 1920 for Kingman County.

- Social Security records 1937-1995.
