Tentative Summer Reading Program Schedule
Saturday, June 1, 10 am-11:30 am: Summer Reading Kick-Off - Our summer reading program begins with the dedication of our improved children's section. Join us at 10:00 for the ribbon cutting. We will have door prizes and refreshments will be served. Anyone registering for the summer reading program on this day will receive a special prize. Learn all about the exciting activities we have planned for our Summer Reading Program.
Friday, June 7, 3 pm: Storytime - Dr. Suess' Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Learn about oobleck when we create it after storytime, weather permitting. This is a messy, hands-on activity, so please dress appropriately.
Wednesday, June 12, 3 pm: Craft - Hemp Necklace, Bracelet, or Keychain
Friday, June 14, 3 pm: Barry Bernstein: Families With a Beat Interactive Program. Barry gets the whole family drumming, dancing, and singing during this interactive program. He brings instruments for everyone. A lot of fun for all!
Friday, June 21, 3 pm: Storytime - Our Heros, The Mayor. The mayor will read one of his favorite children's tales and talk with children about what it is like to be the mayor of Nortonville.
Wednesday, June 26, 3 PM: Craft - Tie-Dye (Bring your own white socks, T-shirt, or other apparel for this craft.
Friday, June 28, 3 PM: Beth Byrd - Mime. This hilarious performer will keep the entire family in stitches. You won't want to miss her!
Saturday, June 29, 10:30 am: Bingo for Books. A fun opportunity to win books!
Friday, July 5, 3 pm: Storytime - Rainbow Fish. We will learn about the joys of sharing and close with a drawing for several stuffed fish.
Wednesday, July 10, 3 pm: Craft - To be announced.
Friday, July 12, 3 pm: David Nieves, Herpetologist with Reptile Education and Research will bring two lizards and three snakes and present a program mixed with science and humor. Conservation and wildlife are stressed. Bring the family and enjoy this educational experience.
Friday, July 19, 3 pm: Storytime - Teddy Bears. Stories about one of the most loveable toys we cherish. We will have a drawing after storytime for a couple of tiny teddy bears.
