In conjunction with Kansas Reads…In Cold Blood, the one-book/one-state project, the Kansas Center for the Book was awarded a grant from the Kansas Humanities Council to explore the book by that title, by author Truman Capote, as literature and as
it portrays Kansas past and present.
This humanities project consists of nine programs by four humanities scholars, discussing the book and standing for questions. These programs will be
held at nine libraries, and four will be broadcast to Enhanced Library Meeting Rooms (ELMeR) and offered to all 18 sites throughout the state with ELMeR technology, increasing the audiences many times over. In addition, the broadcast programs will be
streamed online and archived for future viewing.
If your library has ELMeR capacity, you can join the programs being broadcast and interact with the scholars. All nine programs are free and open to
the public.
To participate in the broadcasts, contact the Kansas Center for the Book at the State Library of Kansas to be added to our list of participants no
later than January 29, 2008. The list will be forwarded to Kanren for equipment testing prior to the program dates. Send the name of your library and dates you would like to:
