Dear Colleagues of the Kansas Book Community,

Since 2005, many individuals have become Fellows of the Kansas Center for the Book, a program of the State Library of Kansas. These Fellows include authors, librarians, educators, booksellers, and others involved in literacy, reading promotion, and literary efforts in Kansas.  Many have helped foster more literary activity throughout the state and to increase awareness of these activities.

As a Fellow, you will have connections with the State Library and the Kansas Center for the Book, new outlets for promoting or marketing books, access to and opportunities to contribute to the KCFB website at www.kcfb.info, participate in the annual Kansas Notable Book List, be included on the online Kansas Authors Database, be a guest or attend the Kansas Authors Dinner and the Kansas Book Festival. Fellows have volunteered as judges for the Letters About Literature youth reading and writing initiative, been members of various project committees, had programming opportunities, and made important suggestions and contributions to existing and new KCFB projects.

As KCFB enters its third fiscal year, Fellows will continue to support these projects and help develop activities that promote our state’s book culture and literary heritage, reading, literacy, and libraries. When your application or renewal is received, you will be granted Fellow status with the Kansas Center for the Book for the next year, July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Fellows of the Kansas Center for the Book, download (see below), fill out and send us via US Mail, the application form and your check to KCFB, State Library of Kansas.  For additional information e-mail us at kcfb@kslib.info.   Your Center for the Book appreciates the tremendous support of Fellows like you.  Submit your renewal today!

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Roy Bird, KCFB Director
