Congratulations! Kansas Reads to Preschoolers was the recipient of Safe Kids Kansas' 2007 Service Recognition Award.  The award was presented in Topeka, December 4, 2007.

The State Library of Kansas & the Kansas Center for the Book were once again proud to promote the importance of reading to Kansas preschoolers & other youth.  In our third year of sponsorship, we were excited to offer not one, not two, but THREE books that set a course for learning and are fun to read, too!!  Supporting our endeavor, this website continues to provide program suggestions and opportunity for you to share your related ideas and activity pictures!

Children can learn what to do and say when there is an emergency.  Because of this book his grandmother had given to him, a four year old knew what action to take when he could not awaken his mother!  This book was also featured on the Good Morning America news program.
