Vision Statement
The Blank Public Library is a dynamic civic resource that provides free access to information, materials and services to all members of the community to stimulate ideas, advance knowledge and enhance the quality of life.
Goal Statement #1
1. In order to contribute the quality of life in Blank Community, the Public Library will provide information, materials and services that will encourage healthy leisure and relaxation activities to all members of the community.
Objectives for Goal 1
a. The children's department of Blank Public Library will offer three parent/child story hours during 2001.
b. The Blank Public Library will spend x% of its acquisitions budget on adult recreational reading in 2001.
c. In 2001, the Blank Public Library Director will join with the Blank Arts Council to distribute materials about upcoming events in the community.
Goal Statement #2
2. Free access to information, materials and services to all members of Blank Community will be improved as a result of the Blank Public Library's participation in regional and statewide networks.
Objectives for Goal 2
a. Library staff will receive training by March 2001 for using online databases available from the statewide network.
b. The staff of Blank Public Library will enthusiastically teach individuals to use the statewide databases (SearchBank and FirstSearch) whenever trained staff are working and it appears the customer wants to learn.
c. The staff of Blank Public Library will conduct searches of the online databases for the customer whenever it appears to be the best way to find free access to needed materials.
d. During the first nine months of use, the staff of Blank Public Library will systematically study such use to help the staff decide what services are most needed by the public.
