>> Alumni Association Scholarships Since 1992, the HHS Alumni Association has annually awarded a $500 scholarship to a college bound graduating senior. Interested seniors submit an application, along with other information, that is used by a committee of teachers, administrators and an alumni board member to select the recipient of the scholarship. These scholarships are funded from the proceeds of alumni
association sponsored projects, including an annual alumni basketball
tournament, alumni banquets and commemorative gift sales. Funds are also received from membership
dues and donations. Recipients>> |

The Last Strike 1897 - 2004 The Highland High School Bluestreaks will yield to the
newly formed navy and orange Doniphan West Mustangs. The
Highland and Midway boards of educations have agreed to contract services to
provide a high school at Highland and a middle school at Midway beginning in
August of 2004. There are many decisions yet to be made and much work to be done to prepare for this transition. Most of the details that effect the educational program, staffing, and policies are yet to be determined. Our staffs will work closely with the boards of education to assure that quality educational programs and services are developed to provide the very best education for our students. Contracting>> Preservation of Heritage Highland High School Alumni Association board is acting in an advisory role to the Highland USD #425 Board of Education and administration on retaining and preserving the heritage and history of the Highland schools. The association board recognizes the necessity for, and is fully supportive of, the current reorganization of schools with the Midway district and believes it to be a positive step for education in our community. At the same time, the association thinks it is equally important to retain and preserve the heritage of both schools. Heritage>> |
