CHAPMAN FAMILY By Sue Quinn Alfred Chapman was born February 22,1822, in Stragell, Suffic County, England. He died at home near Bennington in 1905. Rebecca Daliday was born in Ely Cambridge, Sher England, and died near Bennington in  1915. Alfred was a footman in England; Rebecca was a lady-in-waiting for Queen Victoria. With three children they came to the U.S. and lived in Michigan for a time, then settled in Kansas. They homesteaded the farm now owned by Jim Cherry. They had nine children: John, born in Michigan, lived at Plainwell; Maragret, Mrs. J. S.
