Bentley United Methodist Church
- The Bentley United Methodist Church, the only church inside the Bentley city limits, and located on the main north-south thoroughfare, at 134 N. Wichita Avenue, was chartered in 1901. Sharing a pastor with the Maize United Methodist, local Bentley services begin at 9:30 AM, with Sunday School offered at 9:45. The congregation also meets for a weekly Bible Study. Recently re-vamped, the church's bell tower rings out each Sunday at 9 AM to announce the coming service. Many other major structural improvements have been made to the historic building, which houses the longest continuous run of worship services in an original building of any Protestant congregation west of the Mississippi River. The church also owns an adjoining Education Building, which houses Sunday School classes, church suppers, and local organization meetings.
Pleasant Valley Church
- Pleasant Valley Church, just two miles east of Bentley at 12002 West 109th Street North (Sedgwick, Kansas, 67135), is non-denominational and totally independent. They are conservative in worship style, and emphasize teaching the Bible as God's word and the responsibilities of Christians. The small, family-centered church provides a community atmosphere. Service times are: Sunday School at 10 a.m., with worship service beginning at 11 a.m. Prayer time and bible study are on Wednesdays at 7:45 p.m. A Bible Impact club for children meets at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. More information can be obtained by calling 796-0184 or Mr. Jerrold Sheffler at (316) 796-1135.
Bethany Baptist Church
- Bethany Baptist Church, four miles west of Bentley at 20705 W. 117th St. North, Sedgwick, KS 67135, was first organized in 1890. In this peaceful, rural setting, members share the closeness of community created by a small congregation. Bethany ministers "Preach the whole Bible," and the church supports oversees missions. Sunday School is available for all ages, beginning at 10 AM, with Sunday worship services starting at 11 AM. Prayer meetings take place each Wednesday evening at 7 PM. Periodically, the church offers a noon luncheon for area senior citizens (currently on the second Tuesday, every other month). For additional information about this church, contact Pastor Larry Oyer at (316) 283-8960.
- Nearby communities offer congregations of other denominations including Catholic, Seventh Day Adventist, Federated, Presbyterian, Mennonite, as well as a couple of other non-denominational churches.
