Transportation
U.S. Highway 24 runs through Cawker City east-to-west, directly connecting it to Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan, and Goodland. Interstate 70 is about 40 miles south of Cawker City and runs through Salina, Hays, and Goodland as well as Topeka, Kansas City, and Denver.
Cawker City also has a cargo rail service. And, of course, you can always use a boat and Waconda Lake to get from one boat ramp to another.

Cawker City is a city of the third class governing body consisting of a mayor and five-member council.
