The Erie Public Library was started in 1932 when the sum of $400.00
was allocated by the government for a new City Library. The two room building
served the city until 1975 when the current building was built.
The after hours drop box is located at the front of the building.
The Erie Library Staff will be happy to help you.
We offer:
- Interlibrary Loans
- Over 600 title in Large Print
- Over 500 Titles on Video (Entertainment and Education Titles)
- Audio Books (207 Titles and growing)
- A Kansas Collection
- Genealogy Section which includes the Erie Record on Micro-film from 1868;
and the Walnut Eagle on micro-film from 1894-1951.
- Federal Census Records on micro-film for 1870, 1880 and 1900.
We have two micro-film readers (one prints),
a micro-fiche reader,
Copier (charge of 10 cents a page or 15 cents for front and back), and 4
Personal Computers which have High-Speed Internet access provided by Cox Cable.
