There are many exciting projects in the plans for Greensburg and Kiowa County. The City will be breaking ground on the Business Incubator building in June, 2008. The County hopes to begin restoring the Courthouse this summer. The new streetscape for downtown is scheduled to begin this summer.

The Greensburg State Bank building and the PrairiePointe Townhomes should be completed in July and plan open houses in August or September. Dwane Shank Motors building should be completed this summer. All of these are building to "green" standards. Very energy efficient buildings. The John Deere dealership is building a LEED certified building and has two windmills already in place.

The School is going to be breaking ground this summer, and will be an amazing example for education design - very green.

Other projects that are looking for partners to fill the funding gaps are the BIG Well Museum, The Kiowa County Commons (library, historic museum, media center and extension office.

Many people have asked about the 1,000 pound Brenham Meteorite that was in the Big Well Museum. It is on loan to another museum in Kansas and will return to Greensburg when the Big Well Museum is complete.
