VFW Stag &
Stagette Each first Wednesday of every month a great meal is served with chicken fried steak, lamb fries, salads, beans and other trimmings. St. Patrick's
Day Dinner This has been held annually in March for many years at the Catholic Church Hall. Roast beef, ham, pies and all the trimmings are the menu. Approximately 400-500 people attend. A country store with home-baked goods and crafts are available that day for sale. Easter Egg Hunt In 1979 the Grinnell Youth PRIDE began sponsoring a community Easter Egg Hunt. GAB (Grinnell Area Boosters) and PRIDE continue the tradition still. Harvest Festival This festival is held each summer on the third Sunday in July. It starts off with a BBQ and concession stands in the late afternoon, followed by fun & games. The evening ends with a fireworks display. Every fifth year Alumni weekend is held in conjunction with the festival. The next Alumni reunion will be held in the year 2000. The weekend kicks off on Friday with alumni get-togethers around town. On Saturday a reception, banquet and dance is held at the VFW. Then on Sunday the day commences with a parade followed by hamburgers, fries, concessions, games and fireworks. Annual 3 on 3

Supper This supper is held the fourth Monday of each month from September through April. Pumpkin Fest
& Craft Fair This event is held the end of October at the Grinnell Township Hall. Events include a Craft Fair, pumpkin decorating contest, pumpkin recipe cookoff and food sale. For information call (785) 824-3242. |
