Suggestions from Highland PRIDE
Highland PRIDE still has a few commemorative Sesquicentennial
pillows left. These are great companions to the Highland afghans that
were offered several years ago, as they are constructed of the same blue
on cream materials. The pillows would make a special Christmas gift.
They are being offered for half price - $10.00 each. We will gladly ship
them for you for an additional shipping charge of $10.00.
Also available are 5-packs of postcards with an assortment of pictures
depicting Highland in an earlier era. These are available for $5.00 a
pack.
If you are interested in purchasing either of these items please call
785-741-4026.

Lions "Roaring Lion Newsletter"
Highland
extends a warm welcome to all that come to our city, with the sincere
hope that you will find our community a good place to live and to visit.
Here you will find all the advantages of a small town community:
friendly neighbors, peaceful atmosphere, relaxed pace, security. A drive
of between 30 to 90 minutes, however, will take you to the hustle and
bustle of city life in St. Joseph, Kansas City or Topeka. The mayor and
a five-member council govern Highland, with a population of about 1000.
Information about water hook-up, dog licensing, zoning regulations, and
other city ordinances may be obtained from the city clerk at City Hall,
220 West Main. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the
week. The town of Highland not only has a college, but also has an
excellent K-12 public school system.
