Church History:
The church has a long witness in Highland. Our Presbyterian founders came
originally to minister to the Iowa, Sac and Fox Native American peoples in 1837,
and stayed on to found the town and the college. Our Methodist heritage began in
1837, the same year the town of Highland was born.
Hours of Worship:
The United Methodist Presbyterian Church meets for worship services every Sunday
at 9:30 a.m. Bible Study is Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited
to attend both of these services. Celebration Sunday is held at 8:00 a.m every
other month to honor all birthdays and anniversaries.
Community Outreach:
The church participates in a community wide Vacation Bible School, College back
to school picnic, and Help Your Neighbor West, Doniphan County Food Pantry. The
men join with the United Methodist Doniphan County Men's Brotherhood for monthly
dinner meetings. Pastor Jerry Petering is a member of the Highland Ministerial
Alliance. Crayon Campus, Pre-School meets three mornings a week in Fellowship
