        The Hoisington Police Department consists of 7 commissioned officers, 2 records clerks, and an animal control officer. The department is located in City Hall at 109 East 1st. The offices may be found either off the main lobby or a separate entrance off the alley.
 
The police department is active in community policing and is involved in many aspects of improving the quality of life in Hoisington through enforcement, education and a community partnership.
 
        These are accomplished through in-school programs such as D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness Resistance Education,) community crime prevention meetings, intervention with children at risk and continuing public education regarding issues affecting crime.
