Linwood is located in extreme southern Leavenworth [LV] County bounded on the east by Stranger Creek and on the south by the Kansas (Kaw) River. In relation to other large towns, Linwood is approximately 25 minutes west of Kansas City, Kansas, 20 minutes east of Kansas University in Lawrence, and 25 minutes south of Leavenworth, Kansas.  Old cemetery, Linwood, KS

The town itself is about six to eight blocks square, lined with many beautiful 100+ year old trees. An excellent place for "living", Linwood has three churches, a library, community center and several small businesses and social clubs.

The annual Lions Club barbeque on the fourth Saturday in July provides a great reason to visit Linwood.
