Rice County, Kansas Lyons is the county seat of Rice [RC] County.  The beautiful courthouse square provides a perfect image of how a town ought to be.

The Coronado-Quivira (Rice County) Museum is one of the best small museums in Kansas.  The articles are grouped in informative and interesting displays.

Four miles west of Lyons, beside highway US 56, there is a monument to Father Juan de Padilla killed by Indians in the sixteenth century.
