March 2, 2010 - MCAC presents "m-pact" Live in Concert
- Enjoy the beautiful sounds of "m-pact" a male a cappella group. Crowned Best Vocal Group at the 2005 LA Music
Awards, this "vocal Cirque du Solei" infuses technicolor fantasy into their sophisticated sound. A kaleidoscopic
mix of groove, soul and funk crossed with human big band makes this all-voice sextet "one of the best jazz-pop vocal
ensembles in the world" (San Francisco Chronicle). Drawing fans of every demographic, m-pact has been touring
festivals and prestigious performing arts centers for over ten years. m-pact will perform in concert on
Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at the MHS Auditorium. This concert is sponsored by the Marshall County Arts
Coooperative, and is open to the public with complimentary admission.

March 25, 2010 - Knowledge@Noon, "Is Face Book for You?"
- "Is Face Book for You?" will be presented by Lynn Kracht and her FBLA students on Thursday, March 25th at noon
at the Helvering Center in Marysville. Participants will learn what Face Book is, how it works, and
how to sign up. They will also learn about Face Book Etiquette and what the consequence could be for not using
proper etiquette. This program is free and open to the public.

April 9-10-11, 2010 - M-Act presents The Dinner Party
- The Marysville Area Community Theatre presents The Dinner Party. As Neil Simon's "The Dinner Party"
opens, six people have been invited, unbeknownst to one another, to dine in an elegant private room in an exclusive
Parisian restaurant. They arrive one at a time, encountering each other in pairs and trios, until at last
they start to detect the pattern that explains why they're there. It turns out that they are all divorced
couples. They've been brought together to look backward--and forward--at their damaged relationships.
Will--or perhaps more to the point, can--any or all of them reconcile? Show times are at 7:30 p.m. on April
9th and 10th and at 2:00 p.m. on April 11th.

- Come join us and find out what Geocashing is and how to join in the fun! If you enjoy a good scavenger
hunt, Geocashing may be just the thing for you and your family. Geocashing is a worldwide "treasure hunt"
using GPS. It is a great way of getting out, getting exercise, and socially connecting with others online.
It is something the entire family can join in and enjoy. Participants will have the opportunity to handle
a GPS devise and learn how it works. Join Gwen Turner, local Geocashing enthusiast on Tuesday, May 4th at

- NUNSENSATIONS! The Nunsense Vegas Revue takes the sisters on a brand new adventure. When a parishioner
volunteers to donate $10,000 to the sisters' school if they will perform in a club in Las Vegas, Mother Superior is
hesitant to accept. However, after being convinced by the other sisters that "what happens in Vegas, stays in
Vegas" Reverend Mother agrees. What follows is the most feather-filled, sequin-studded, fan dancing Nunsense
show ever! Performing in "The Pump Room" at the Mystique Motor Lodge, the sisters experience "show-biz" like
never before. You'll meet Sin-City Sue, find out who's Black and White with Her Money on Red, and try to win
a new car with the "Holy Rollers Giant Slot Machine". Taking a line from another show, a critic pointed out,
"It's a whole lot funny and a little bit naughty, but there ain't nothin' dirty goin' on!" Show times are at
7:30 p.m. on May 21st and 22nd and at 2:00 p.m. on May 23rd.

June 5, 2010 - Marshall County Junior Miss
- The annual Marshall County Junior Miss Scholarship Program will be held June 5th in Marysville. The
program is held at the MHS Auditorium and begins at 7:00 p.m. Junior aged girls compete for over $3,000.00
in scholarships. The winner will proceed to the Kansas Junior Miss Program in Belleville in March of 2011
and the winner of that will proceed to America's Junior Miss in Mobile, Alabama in June of 2011. The
Marshall County program is sponsored by Preceptor Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

June 21, 2010 - Pony Express Re-Ride
- The annual Pony Express Re-Ride from Sacramento, CA to St. Joseph, MO will take place on
June 6-26, 2010. The route will be over the Pony Express National Historic Trail. Commemorative
letters and personal mail will be carried in a mochila and relayed by over 550 riders over the
1,966 mile route.
This Re-Ride will mark the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Central Overland and California Pikes Peak
Express Company. A change of riders will occur at the Original Pony Express Home Station No. 1 in Marysville
on June 21st at approximately 9:15 p.m.
As part of the annual re-ride, the Marysville Chamber of Commerce and the Pony Express Home Station #1 in Marysville
will host family friendly activities near the Pony Express Barn & Museum. Events will include a BBQ, a sing-along,
children's games, old-time skills demonstrations (rope, broom & basket making, blacksmithing & more), plus a musical
performance by the Minihan Family of Blue Rapids...all leading up to the dramatic arrival of a Pony Express Rider
at approximately 9:15 p.m. Specific time and activities will be posted soon.

Display, window guessing contests, turkey & ham drawings, and the Halloween Costume Contest are on the agenda for
the evening. The Footloose Dancers will perform at 6:30 p.m., the Marysville High School Band will perform
at 7:00 p.m. and the Children's Costume Contest will begin at 7:30 p.m. Free coffee and donuts will be provided

Parade. Everyone, young and old, are invited to participate in the parade that lines up at 4:30 p.m. by

- St. Gregory's Catholic School invites you to "Savor the Flavor III" on Saturday, January 23rd, beginning at
6:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Enjoy wine & beer tasting, absolutely wonderful hors d'oeuvres and an

January 28, 2010 - The Waffle Man
- St. Gregory's Catholic School is sponsoring "The Waffle Man" on Thursday, January 28th from
4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy 9 inch Belgan Waffles with a wide variety of flavored syrups
and whipped cream, scrumptious sausages and drinks. The Waffle Man serves 20 waffles every
4 minutes, 321+ an hour! This is a fundraiser for the Catholic Schools Week.

February 6, 2010 - Legislative Forum
- The Marysville Chamber of Commerce and AT&T will host a Legislative Forum with area
legislators on Saturday, February 6th. State Senator Mark Taddiken and State Representative
Sharon Schwartz will be on hand with comments and address your questions. The public is
encouraged to attend this Legislative Forum at the Marysville City Hall. Coffee and rolls
will be served at 8 a.m. and the forum will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
February 7, 2010 - Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake
- The annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake will be held on Sunday, February 7th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

- "Harvesting the Wind" will be presented by George Black, official with Renewable Power Marketers Access Great
Plains Wind Development, Inc. on Tuesday, February 9th at the Marysville City Hall at noon. Mr. Black will
discuss the impact wind generation could have on the agricultural and overall economies of Marshall County and
environmental concerns associated with wind projects. ɢThis program is free and open to the public.
February 11, 2010 - Evangelical United Church of Christ Soup Day
- The annual Evangelical Church Soup Day will be held on Thursday, February 11th in the church
basement. Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Come and enjoy delicious homemade soups, sandwiches, pies

Febraury 12, 2010 - Romancing Marysville
- The annual Romancing Marysville drawing, sponsored by the Marysville Chamber of Commerce, will be held on
Friday, February 12th. One lucky winner will receive over $1,000.00 in merchandice and gift certificates
from area businesses. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6/$5.00 donation and can be obtained at A Cut Above, Ar-Ex

Express, Fashion Direct, Blue Valley Tele-Communications and Marysville Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit

- The Marysville Knights of Columbus and St. Gregory's Catholic School Fish Fry will run from 5:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19 in the Church Hall. Enjoy great fish, with all the trimmings, and wonderful
homemade desserts.
February 20, 2010 - Retro Prom
- The Marysville Area Community Theater will sponsor a "Retro Prom" on Saturday, February 20th, starting at 8:00 p.m.
at the Marysville Moose Lodge. The dance, which is a fundraiser for the theatre, will feature songs from the
50's through the 90's played by a DJ from Manhattan. Light refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be
available. Come dressed in formalwear or arrive in your street clothes. Anything goes! Prizes will
be available for the best costumes. Advance tickets are $10 for those over 21 years of age and $5.00 for those
under 21. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 8th through 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19th, and may be purchased
at the Astro 3 Theatre, Habitat Thrift Shop, Marysville Public Library, the Marysville Chamber of Commerce;
Fancy T's in Waterville and Daisydoodle in Frankfort. Tickets will be availabe at the door for $15.00 for
those over 21 and $5.00 for those under 21.
