Grover's Corners, New Hampshire is a small, rural, out-of-the-way fictional town.
From 1901 to 1913, life is pretty much the same for small towns in America. Such is the
setting of Thornton Wilder's play, Our Town. The central values of the play - Christian
morality, community and the family are traditional. Yet Wilder's methods of presenting these
values on the stage are nothing but. No scenery, few props and mimed actions - all these
make for a radically innovative way of presenting a drama. In Our Town, Thornton
Wilder artfully manipulates time and place and relates the here-and-now of a small, New England
village to the timeless concerns of all humankind. He builds the action of the play toward
the dramatic revelation that human life, however painful, dreary or inconsequential its daily
events, is both a precious gift in its own right as well as a portion of the mysterious plan
that rests in the minds of us all.

July 25-27, 2008 - M-Act presents The Will Rogers Follies
- The Marysville Area Community Theatre will present The Will Rogers Follies with
performances on July 25th and 26th at 7:30 p.m. and on July 27th at 2:00 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.
This lavish Tony Award-winning hit focuses on the life and career of famed humorist and
performer Will Rogers, using as a backdrop the Ziegfeld Follies. The curtain rises on a
tribute to the man whose daily newspaper column sent America on its way each morning with a smile
on its face. Throughout the show Will entertains the audience with rope tricks while the
show girls change their costumes for the next production number. The revue contains snippets
of Rogers' famous homespun style of wisdom and common sence and conveys the personality of this
quintessentially American figure whose most famous quote was "I never met a man I didn't like."
This musical is an upbeat celebration of this folk hero who made the world a much better
place than it was before he entered it.
