Park along Hwy 160 in Moline, Kansas Moline is located in south central Elk county at the intersection of US 160 and K-99. The last few years have brought a new medical office, a new water tower, and a facelift for the city park along US-160; Moline is definitely holding its own. Fishing is supposed to be great at the city lake; we haven't tried it yet.

History

Pickle place on the edge of Moline, KS. Painting by Mrs Elnora Vanderpool, Moline KS       One story suggests that Moline was named for Moline, Illinois, the former home of one of its founders. Another suggests that the new town was named by a salesman from the John Deere Plow Company.
