Clyde Cessna got his start in aviation on a farm near Rago.  He built and flew his own monoplane in 1911.
In earlier times, Rago was a busy rail junction where the old A.T. & S.F. branch line that ran down to Englewood met the Hutchinson & Southern (later A.T.S.F.).
