History of Sabetha, Kansas(click items to see details) Early Days in Sabetha The materials in the above series of pages on the early history of Sabetha were taken from A History of SABETHA, KANSAS and Surrounding Area 1854 - 1976, published by the Sabetha Bicentennial Organization in 1976. It was prepared by a committee consisting of Pauline Rokey (chairman), May Wines, Elmer Snyder, Candee Lehman and Harvey Rokey. A copy of the complete publication is available at the Mary Cotton Public Library in Sabetha. The following article was taken from a newspaper article that appeared in The St. Louis Dispatch of 1911. It was provided by Charles Koch of Sabetha. He received it from Glenn Cooper of Berryville, Arkansas, who found it lining the bottom of a box of stuff he purchased at a sale. Glenn used to stay at the Koch Motel in Sabetha years ago.
