We Help Children

Big Brothers Big Sisters exists to benefit children who need the friendship of a special adult in their lives-a Big Brother or Big Sister.  Little Brothers ands Sisters are from 5 to 17 years old and come from all social, financial and ethnic backgrounds.  Some children do have specific challenges at home or at school, but many of them are just seeking some personal time with a caring, sincere adult friend.

The volunteer(s) must be able to see the child at least two to three hours a week, on an average, for at least six months.  Together they do whatever activities they both enjoy-shopping, playing ball, sharing a project, picnics, running errands or any other activity in which they share an interest.  We encourage the volunteers to include the child in their regular activities.

A Bigs in schools volunteer meets with his or her Little at a school closest to the volunteer's home or work for 45 minutes a week.  They can study, but are highly encouraged to interact on a social basis like visiting and playing board games, etc.

Local Board Members- Cheryl Annan, Dort Goodman
