Much of the recreation in Sterling is centered around beautiful Sterling Lake which offers many activities for families. At the swimming pool lessons are offered during the summer. A beach volleyball court equipped with lights is available for use at any time. A Fourth of July Beach Volleyball Tournament is held each year. Also available are horseshoe pits, tennis courts, a walking path around the lake and several play areas for children. Paddle boats are for rent during the summer months and fishing is abundant with numerous spots around the lake.
