The St. John Nepomucene Catholic church in Pilsen is literally and
figuratively the heart of the town and its gleaming spire
can be seen for many miles around.
Pilsen was settled by Czechs and is named for the city of
Bohemia in the Czech Republic, famous for its beer (among other things).
Father Emil Kapuan, who died heroically in the Korean War, was a native of Pilsen.
